I run OpenELEC - Raspberry Pi ARM Version:3.2.4 on my device and connect to my router using the wired LAN port. Until yesterday everything was working fine (for almost 2 years) and then, all of a sudden, the wired LAN connection died. Unfortunately I don't know enough about Linux to go and scratch around in the OS to see if there's a problem with the adapter, but I've done the following tests in confirming that the problem does indeed appear to be with the Raspberry Pi: - plugged network cable into another device and confirmed connection to router/internet - flashed SD card and reloaded stable OpenELEC image file to confirm issue is not related to customised software. The network adapter simply seems dead (i.e. no activity on router or Raspberry Pi when connecting cable). Would it be at all possible that the adapter component failed completely and, if so, how would I confirm this via the OS? Lastly, should the component have failed completely, how would I go about replacing the said component?
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
