Hello,

I was reading a BBC article about a town in some Eastern Bloc country that built a gigantic fucking wall around a gypsy encampment "for their betterment" and it just looks like a warsaw ghetto. Sad faces, sepia toned photographs of utter filth..etc. I know that gypsies (Roma) have been one of the most persecuted minorities, perhaps even more so than Jews, and I never really understood why.

Southern California has gypsies down near Huntington Beach, but I can't say with any certainty that I have ever interacted with them. I'm simply an ignoramus and wish not to be any longer.

Any Roma here?

Please help.
