We purchased a 20 year old Saddlebred gelding. He is as people oriented and loveable as the Saddlebred people say. However, he seems sorely underfed to me. The previous owners gave me a photo of him when he was younger in which he looks good to me. My experience is with Quarter horse types and how they age. His coat is shedding out to a gorgeous shiny and healthy looking red-copper. What do you all think? More groceries? Also, in general, is his confirmation typical Saddlebred?
Please help. Thanks!
