Dark Horse Tavern » Mare damaging her hocks at night ?

hello,


Many mornings when I got out to feed I find my mare with scraped up hocks. I use Microcyn AH and swat to keep the flies off and they usually heal. I've tried hock boots but she kicked and rubbed at them so much they dropped down and came off.

This morning was the worst! I just don't understand why this is happened to only her. Ideas? Any idea on a better light weight hock boot that she might leave alone?
